We are excited to share the results of our Survey of the Impact of AI on Austin Area Residents. This is a rare survey in that it was designed and weighted to represent the Austin community as a whole — not a convenience sample drawn from any particular audience. We are pairing these results with our living meta-analysis report on the State of AI in Austin: an AI-written, human-orchestrated analysis of where our region stands.

We would like to thank Austin Women in Technology for the ongoing partnership and assistance in bringing you this information. Special thanks to our volunteer team: Victor Masaya, Brigid Trenerry, Jamie Bennet, Alyson Galus, and Larry Allen. The Alliance is a volunteer-driven organization, and these five stepped up shape this for the community  — no small undertaking.

We are also actively seeking sponsors to help us expand our reach and deepen our impact. Sponsorship inquiries can be sent to info@austin-ai.org.

Survey Results

The topline results are presented here. Further segmentation and analysis are available.  We would be happy to schedule a briefing to review all findings and implications of interest to you as well as our living report covering:

  • Economic development, industry ecosystem, and trends
  • Social Impact
  • Government, policy and regulations
  • Infrastructure and technology
  • Future outlook

These combine to provide insights and actions for consideration for the Alliance, our members, and Austin generally.  Contact us if interested in a briefing at info@austin-ai.org.

What We Covered at Our March 18 Meeting

We presented many of these results at our March 18 Innovation Spotlight meeting. The discussion focused on two themes: AI in the Physical World and AI in the Labor Markets.

If you missed it, one key takeaway centered on job market dynamics — and what each of us can do to take ownership of our own AI journey. The following resources may be useful to you personally:
